CONGRATULATIONS TO PAUL & PAUL

Paul Acosta & Paul Dimas (left while practicing), both from Gallup, won the two day "Ray Daugherty Memorial Invitational" at Coyote Del Malpais in Grants, NM. The tournament, played on June 9 & 10, featured thirty two (32) 2-Man teams. The Gallup team beat Don & Elliot Murphy, both of Grants, by only one shot. In third place, just two shots back of second, was another team from Gallup, James Miller & Dave Lambert. The format for this tournament is Best Ball on Saturday and Aggregate on Sunday. Now, here is the kicker: Paul Dimas, who played to a 14 handicap, shot a 76 on Sunday and Paul Acosta, who played to a 12 handicap, shot a 73! That is 62-61 in net... 19 under par in the Aggregate format!!!!!!!!

It reminds me of the 10 handicapper who played a round of golf at a golf course across town, where he found a very challenging match. Later that day, at his club, he was having a drink with some friends who asked him, "how did it go, Paul?", "Well", he said, "I had the most difficult match I've ever had against another 10 handicapper, I had to shoot 68 to beat him by one!"

Just kidding guys!!! Congratulations... and I will call Manny to ask him not to use the ladies tees for men's tournaments again!
