The 2007 Lions Scramble Tournament went on with 25, 3-Man Teams... and did they have a good time! Bill Dziuk, Lions representative and tournament chairman, worked all around the city to get 75 golfers; "we wanted more" he admitted, "but next year we will change some things and I am sure we will surpass 100 golfers". I'm sure they will. Bill, from the sales team at Amigo Toyota, got help from the bosses as they donated a Toyota Tundra 5.7 for anyone who made a Hole in One on Hole #11. Unfortunately, no one did, though, Dennis Peterson (pictured here) made a Hole in One on Hole #10, which was playing as a 204 Yard par-3! That is two for Dennis in the last two years, the first one coming on Hole #9 (which was playing at its regular length) by going over the hill and holing out with a driver (how can I forget, I was his "victim" that day!). What did Dennis do on #11, the holes with the real prize? He missed the green! As you can see, Dennis needs a little work on the mid and short irons, he has the long game covered!. Dennis, I would have loved seeing you drive in a new Toyota Tundra! The tournament gave prizes to the top three gross and net winners. Following are the results: GROSS: 1st - (63) Lance Allgood, Randy Radcliff & Randy Slaughter; 2nd - (65) Bill Lewis, Scott Hamilton & David Haynes; 3rd - (65) Darrel Dodson, Tom Chee & Travis Chee. NET: 1st (57.3) George Holbrook, Gilbert Pomalas & Obit Cayedito; 2nd - (58.1) Jason Valentine, Ruben Sanchez & Tom Gonzales; 3rd - (58.3) Dave Hill, Johnny Thomas & Norman Nomoto. The long drive contest was won by Robert Dimas with a 298 yard poke! Thanks to Bob Weekes and the maintenance crew who did a very nice job in setting up the course and the carts!
