DAVE MADRID MEMORIAL DRAWS MANY FRIENDS

Ray Moore is a cancer survivor... Ray Moore is very appreciative of his friendship with David Madrid, and young man in his 30's whom he met during chemotherapy treatments. Ray Moore beat cancer, David Madrid didn't; and in David's memory, to show his own appreciation for life and the friendship they developed, Ray hosted a tournament to benefit Dave Madrid's widow and three children (here Dave'd Madrid's family pictured with Ray Moore). In a little over a month, just after getting the green light for the date, Ray and Lisa Moore went on a mission and were able to promote the event among friends and sponsors, gathered sixteen 3-Man Teams and several sponsors. Food was donated by the Silva brothers, Anthony, Eric and Mike (who were cousins with David) and was served by all the Madrid family. It was a nice, family and friends (On the right: Mike Butch Lucero and Mark Herrera follow Mike's tee shot and on the left, Albert Hale and Marcus Tulley watch as Ronnie Pinto "gives them the line") gathering and a beautiful day for golf. Too bad many of us did not get to meet David (he did not play golf); had he been a golfer, he would have enjoyed the day.
Here are the results: 1st (59G) Brian Dominguez, Jason Armstrong & Brian Maldonado; 2nd (57N) David Hill, Norman Nomoto & Simon Paredes; 3rd (62G) Ronnie Pinto, Marcus Tulley & Albert Hale and 4th (59N) Darryl-Willie Holtsoi, Tom Chee & Stacey Thacker. Other players received other prizes and gifts, including for closest to the pin and log drive contests... Eddie Armijo made me promise that I would publish his name for long drive on #6 (we never publish the names for the winners of these contests, but his tee shot on #6 must have hit a couple of rocks, three sprinklers and the cart path to go approximately 365 yards!!)...Congratulations to all the winners!! P.S. Eddie Armijo says that he planned exactly that way.. I was beginning to wonder!!
