GHS MUSIC BAND MAKES GOOD ON SECOND TRY

Headed by parent Marilyn Benedict, the GHS Music Band Scramble, which was rescheduled from earlier this year for lack of participation, made the best of the rescheduled date and ended up with 60 players and around 90 sponsors… congratulations!! It was a sunny but very cool day (thank God it was not windy like on Saturday), as it allowed everyone to enjoy a day of fun and friendly competition. John Taylor (right) successfuly uses "Body English" to wish a long downhill putt in on #10; "Coco Bear" Abeyta (below left) laughs at his own shot, which is being discussed by Gilbert Ramirez and Eddy Jaramillo (left). Simon Paredes, Goyo Paredes, Norman Nomoto & Dave Hill took first place (gross) with a 62. All the remaining places were in the net category as follows: 2nd (57.5) – Don Good, Eric Palmer, Buddy Cadell & Robert Rosales; 3rd (57.5) – Joey “Coco Bear” Abeyta, John Abeyta, Joseph Abeyta & Jeremie Herrera; 4th (58.0) – Calvin Begay, Bennett Johnson, Ronnie Pinto & Marcus Tulley; 5th (58.0) – Jimmy Thomas, Nick Begay, Jeremie Tsosie & Darryll Blackhorse (ties in the net were broken by lowest gross score). One more tournament remains, “THE END OF THE YEAR SCRAMBLE”, to be played next Sunday. It is a 3-Man Scramble, "Blind Draw". More details at the pro-shop.
