Every weekend during the golf season, I am asked "Well pro, who do you think is going to win this tournament?". I always refer to Ben Hogan's line, "Can't tell you, but, that is why they are playing,

to see who wins...!" Tiger, though seven shots behind on Saturday, is far from
bei
ng forgotten, even if he has never won a major coming from behind on Sunday morning, there is always a first time. Remember Mark
O'Meara's win in 1998? He was never in the lead until he holed his putt on the last hole!! (he started behind, tied for the lead on #17 and won the tournament on #18). Tiger could do the same.
Remember, they say that The Masters starts on

the back nine on Sunday, and there are many good players within 7 shots that have won majors before (shots behind in parenthesis): Angel Cabrera (1), Todd Hamilton (3), Jim
Furyk (5),

Geoff Ogilvy,
Vijay Singh and Phil
Mickelson (6) and Padraig Harrington, Tiger Woods and Sandy Lyle (7). Not to mention that there are players who could make this their first major, including leaders Kenny Perry and Chad Campbell, giving Kenny the edge; but you have Sergio Garcia (5), Anthony Kim (5), Tim Clark (4 ) and Henrik
Stenson (6). Who am I cheering for? Harrington,
Mickelson, Hamilton and Kim.... I know, it's too many, so today, I stick with Padraig!
Other notes: Do you realize that Gary Player (top left and nine majors) played in his last Masters ever? 52 appearances! That is a record that Tiger Woods will never break... why? Because I don't see him playing past 50 much (Chi Chi Rodriguez said sometime ago, "Tiger is lucky, very lucky... he does n

ot have to play me in another 25 years!"). It was also Fuzzy
Zoeller's (two majors) last
appearance. Gary Player, defending champion, put the green jacket on him after winning in 1979. This tournament is my favorite as far a nostalgia and traditions, I hate to see these two players go!
LET'S JUST WATCH...
