OPENING DATES

Fellow Golfers:

The opening date of our golf course has been delayed farther back than anyone wanted. Snow aside, which we are supposed to get more of, the moisture really has made the ground soft. We had not had that much snow in a winter in several years, I had forgotten what it was like.

Bob Weekes is concerned that the course might not be thawed out by the end of this month and to be on the safe side, he will not recommend or authorize opening until he is sure play will not damage the turf. If you want to start playing, pray for GOOD, GOOD, WARM & GOOD weather! Judging from immediate past experience, is difficult to really know when we will be ready since we had not had this much moisture since 1998 or so. Bob Weekes joked, "Hey, that's part of my job!" (bringing moisture)

The Pro-Shop is coming along just fine. The carpet will be installed sometime the week of Feb.19-26, which is all Darryl Schmaltz is waiting for in order to install the new counters and finish his work in the Pro-Shop. Carpet was delayed because of delay in shipment by the seller.

Bathrooms look super! The new Pro-Shop layout will really work out well for services. Everything will. See you around. You are all welcome to come and see some of the changes we have been working on.

If you happen to see anyone (from administration, elected or appointed), please say "THANK YOU". Like you (and I), they would also want and like to hear when things are going right, not only when people are displeased. They have really gone out of their way to make things look good there and I know they spent more than just a "few bucks"!

See you around!!
