GOLF COURSE OPERATION CHANGE...

Bob Weekes, our golf course superintendent, has been named "Director of Golf Course Operations" and will be in charge, as his title describes, of all operations. Bob, who came to Gallup in September of 2006, most recently had worked for Patrick Laughlin at the beautiful Laughlin Ranch in Bullhead City, AZ and at an upscale Tom Weiskopf golf course before coming to Gallup. This reorganization, as mandated by city management, is intended to make our operation more efficient and increase direct communication between golf course and city management. Since Mr. Weekes was already in charge of the golf course budget, according to city officials, it was the logical step to take. Rest assured that I will support all efforts by Bob and/or the city to improve all areas of operation. For now, my position as golf professional will remain the same, any changes will be published. Another change is that, as of opening time (most likely after March 15), the city will own all services: pro-shop, snack bar and range services. However, please be assured that you should expect no lesser quality of services, nor lesser services. Thus far, fees, hours of operation, policies and local rules, are expected to remain the same as before. Any changes will be published in this blog and in other media outlets.
