BEAN & ROSS WIN 2-MAN BEST BALL
On a fairly uneventful Sunday morning, Kenny Bean & Willie Ross, a last minute team pairing, ended up winning Sunday's (August 26) Men's 2-Man Best Ball with a net Best Ball of 57. You'd think that they "shot lights out" or that their handicaps were "too" good, the fact is though, that they played steady (Bean shooting a net two under and Ross scoring net even par), but like they say, they "hammed & egged it" pretty good... Congratulations!! Coming in second was the team of Calvin Begay & Jackie McKinney with a 59. There was a tie for 3rd between two teams with a 61: Marcus Tulley & Nelson Leonard with Emmett Francis & Ronnie Pinto. Tulley and Leonard won the tie breaker. One shot back was the team of cousins Robert & Paul Dimas (some pictures to follow later).

Have you seen the greens lately Mr. Leloff?
ReplyDeleteWe have all seen the greens. Someone made a comment that without rain the course does not look too good, the truths is that with and without. Between the weeds and the fairways (?) which are more like roughs, this golf course maintenance set-up sucks. No matter what Alex or Bob say... it SUCKS!!
ReplyDeleteQuit complaining. It is what you have, enjoy what you can... if you can.

YES I HAVE SEEN THE GREENS LATELY. I LIKE THEM AND I HAVE OFTEN SAID I THINK MR WEEKES HAS DONE A REMARKABLE JOB WITH THEM. SOME ARE NOT MOWED EVENLY BUT OVERALL THEY ARE IN PRETTY GOOD SHAPE. IT IS POSSIBLE WE MAY LOSE ONE OR TWO OF THEM, BUT ONLY BECAUSE THEY WERE'NT BUILT CORRECTLY TO BEGIN WITH. NOT BOB'S FAULT ! MY MAJOR COMPLAINT OVERALL IS THE MAINTAINENCE OF THE FAIRWAYS & SHORT ROUGHS. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THEM MOWED MORE FREQUENTLY AND TO SOME ACCEPTABLE STANDARD OF PLAY.
ReplyDeleteNOW THAT THE HOSPITAL TOURNAMENT IS DRAWING NEAR, YOU WILL SEE A FLURRY OF ACTIVITY ALL AIMED AT GETTING THE COURSE IN SHAPE. I WISH THE AVERAGE CITIZEN WAS WORTHY OF THE SAME RESPECT !!!!
I LOVE THE FACT THAT THE MAJORITY OF BLOGGERS WISH TO REMAIN ANONYMOUS. PERHAPS, IF THEY WOULD IDENTIFY THEMSELVES WE COULD BECOME BETTER ORGANIZED AS CITIZENS AND GO SPEAK DIRECTLY TO THE PEOPLE WHO CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE AND AFFECT SOME CHANGE AROUND HERE.
