SHIRLEY WILSON & PAT HOLLOWAY SAVE THEIR BEST FOR STATE TOURNAMENT

Pat Holloway & Shirley Wilson (pictured left), saved their best game for the New Mexico Women's Senior Amateur; Pat won 1st place net in her flight and Shirley won 2nd gross in hers. Marilou Condrey, another Gallup participant, led her flight after the first day, but could not keep her game going and faded back finishing in the middle of the flight. The tournament was played in Belen at Tierra Del Sol G.C., a pretty tough layout. The three day format plus a practice round, of course, favors "newer" seniors, so, this was a double victory for our two "veteran" senior. A fourth lady, Mary Batson, was scheduled to play as well, but had to withdraw at last minute due to health reasons (we all wish you a prompt recovery). All four ladies have not only been long time Gallup golfers, but have always been involved in the leadership of the local Women's Golf Association. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL!!
