2007 - OPENING WEEKEND

THE PLAYERS:
Our season got on its way with over 120 rounds over the weekend, and a lot of smiley faces!

Here on your left, our first official foursome of the 2007 season, from left to right: Clarence Peterson, David Haynes, Scott Hamilton (what are you looking at buddy?) and Danny Radcliff. The question is: who won the cash in this tough group?
Now the question is, "which of the 60 or so golfers made the first birdie of the season?" On your right, David Haynes hits the first tee shot of the season. Can you tell why he always plays a low hook? I'm not sure he birdied that hole! Our first "on course" visitor was our big friend, Calvin Begay.
THE COURSE:
To be on the safe side, the golf course will be opening at 12:00 noon for this week, as the weather warms up, tee times will begin earlier and earlier until we reach normal hours of operation. So far, everyone was pleased that at least, we had the golf course open for service, even if it is for a little of over half a day. So golfers, THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION!
WE DO APPRECIATE IT!
"GRAND OPENING TOURNAMENT"
Officially, our first tournament has been scheduled for April 8 ("Masters of Gallup & Augusta") on Masters Sunday, however, we are toying with the idea of having a "Grand Opening Scramble" (a true "Get Acquainted Scramble" in which we will draw the teams in the pro-shop) on Saturday March 31st). Please keep a look on our postings.
THANK YOU TO LARRY BINKLEY:
If you were not one of the 120 players this weekend, then you did not see the improvements in the pro-shop, all thanks to the approval and "fund seeking" Larry Binkley. More to come! The Construction Department, headed by Darryl Schmaltz, did a super nice job in everything, but we specially appreciate the well designed and built counters!
See you around!
