PLEASE HELP!!!!

Every year it seems, I have to write about this topic, this time I've chosen to do so in our "GOLF IN GALLUP" blog instead of our weekly column, because I think I am reaching the golfers who really care, YOU! If there is anything that is the responsibility of the player and no one else, is COURSE ETIQUETTE. This includes, but it is not limited to: 1) Basic course maintenance from the player and, 2) Courtesy for other golfers.

Basic Course Maintenance: includes two of the most basic and old of all maintenance practices, Repairing Ball Marks & Replaicing or Repairing Divots! Please help us teach other golfers, and, if you find this task an impossible one, PLEASE DO A LITTLE EXTRA YOURSELF… sort of like a payback to mom for having picked up your clothes when you were growing up: SOMEBODY HAD TO DO IT!

Courtesy of other golfers: This includes many things, but lets only talk about pace of play. I realize that not everyone can play at a normal or fast pace, but if your group is taking longer than normal (pace of play is written in the scorecard), PLEASE HAVE THE COURTESY OF ALLOWING OTHER GROUPS WHO ARE PLAYING FASTER TO GO THROUGH, PARTICULARLY WHEN THERE IS NO ONE IN FRONT OF YOU. In doing so, everyone will be able to play at the pace of play they like to and everyone will enjoy their round.

An of course, it won’t hurt anyone to play at a faster pace: don’t look for balls too long, be ready to play your shot when it’s your turn and write the score down when on the next tee.

Guaranteed! It works like magic, if you help with the above, you will like your golf pro and maintenance superintendent, not to mention your course: MUCH BETTER!

THANK YOU!!
