NEW CARTS?

Since we opened on March 10, one of the most noticeable changes has been the conditions of our carts. Many people thought that we have new carts. It is not so (in this picture, I am being carefully "supervised" by Darryl Antone, Preston Tom and RichardGomez, three of our maintenance guys who are proud of their efforts).

With the directive of the city and with city approved funds, several thousand dollars were spent in refurbishing the carts as well as jointly designing a maintenance (including a frequent "detailing" of the carts) and control programs so that we have nice, workable carts for all patrons all the time. Without a doubt, without the hard work of Jimmy Velazquez, who was assigned by Bob Weekes to this difficult task, this would not have been possible.

THIS IS WHERE YOUR COOPERATION WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED AND NEEDED: We cannot do it alone. Surely, everyone would like to see carts that look like new all the time, so we ask you to please help us protect them, as well as our golf course, by treating our carts with care, it is rather simple:

  1. Stay on the paths; do not drive on the desert areas;
  2. do not attempt to drive over railroad ties (yes, we've seen that) or
  3. drive under trees with low braches (we've seen that too),
  4. do not allow youngsters to drive them or play with them (ditto)... and,
  5. if your club ever behaves badly and hits a bad shot, don't do like others and use the cart to break that misbehaving club with, use your head!

OK, OK. I know I'm "over the top" because I am not addressing anyone who has ever had a temper tantrum on the course, but I know you've all seen it, so just help us spot those misbehaving golfers: since many of you have cell-phones, please use them and report any abuse to the pro-shop at 863-9224, if nothing else, do it at the turn. Every little bit of information and cooperation will be appreciated.

Lets all make "Playing Golf in Gallup" a good experience for all.

THANK YOU!!
