LIONS CLUB TOURNAMENT RESULTS

In a matter of less than one hour, a beautiful morning combined with a last minute drive to advertise the event, increased the field from 36 players to 51, and the annual Lions Club Tournament got under way with 17 teams of three players. That is when no one minds having to re-print scorecards and pairing sheets, mainly the hosts, who were more than happy to pick up 15 players at last minute! No one more happy than Bill Dziuk and Rudy Piano, co-chairmen of the event (just look at Rudy's son, and you'll see he shared relief with dad!). Defending champs, Randy Slaughter, Randy Radcliff and Lance Allgood had high expectations, but were done by a cold putter from Lance (pictured here after missing one on #13, where his partners seem to say "Come on Lance, don't leave, it'll get better!!")

The tournament recgnized 6 winning teams, 3 in gross and 3 in net, as follows:

GROSS:

1st: 60 - Phillip De La Riva, Johnny Thomas, Debbie Thomas; 2nd: 62 - Ronnie Pinto, Kenny Bean, Paul Dimas; 3rd: 62 - Tom CHee, Travis Chee, J.C. Whitehorse

NET:

1st: 57.4 (66) - Victor Piano, Chris Piano, John Compton; 2nd: 57.4 (74) - Phillip "Bubba" henderson, Richard Storch, Toby Tafoya; 3rd: 57.5 (69) - Don Marzilli, Armando Alvarez, Albert Lucero.
