FIRECRACKER TOURNAMENT RESULTS

The annual "Firecracker" tournament was played with three formats: 6 Holes "Best Ball", 6 Holes "Scramble" and 6 Holes "2-Ball Aggregate (with teams being able to play the ball from the best of the two tee shots). This last format substituted the usual "Alternate Shot" format, and, mostly, was accepted by the players, several of whom had not played in the event in a few years, like Danny Radcliff (pictured left, where his "flop shot" came within 5 feet of the hole) and Jonathan Avery, a two time city champion who has not played much the last few years.

In all, 32 players participated and shared lunch afterwards (a special thanks to Anthony Sanchez for his generous discount at Subway... the sandwiches were great!)

Paul Dimas & Paul Acosta narrowly won 1st place with a score of 85.8 and beat cousin Robert Dimas & partner Pete Urias, by only 1/10th of a point as they finished with 85.9!

In 3rd place, with a score of 87.4 were last minute pairing of Kenny Bean & Ronnie Pinto; and in 4th place were Jason Gomez & Earl Barnhill, both new participants. Their team ended with a net score of 88.5.

Just "out of the money", with an 88.8, were Marcus Tulley & Nelson Leonard, both of whom have been pretty hot this year. Congratulations and thank you to all!! (a special thanks to Arviso Construction, a family business that has sponsored tournaments or teams in every event this year!)
